Ranking

Default sort is lowest current price per gram from latest in-stock retailer data. Affiliate status is never used in scoring, tie-breaking, or visibility rules.

Data collection

Retailer adapters fetch product and price snapshots daily. Entries are de-duplicated; unchanged price/stock states are not inserted, reducing noise and storage.

Monetization separation

Affiliate links are stored in a separate mapping table and rendered as labeled metadata. Core ranking reads only pricing, product weight, and inventory fields.

Affiliate network currently used for tracking partnerships: Awin.

Amazon-specific pages intentionally hide scraped numeric Amazon prices until first-party API integrations are enabled.

Quality controls

Scraping includes retry logic, rate limiting, adapter-level error logs, and scheduled rollup recomputation for chart stability.
